If your Sony BDP-BX320 disc doesn't seem to load and the disc won't play, follow this troubleshooting page for possible solutions.
DVD Is Dirty or Damaged
If the disc is not playing, check if the disc is dirty or damaged.
- Check if the Disc is dirty or damaged. Sometimes fingerprints and smudges can cause playback issues and can be resolved by cleaning the disc with a soft cloth.
- Observe the disc for tiny damages like cracks or chips. If the disc is damaged or chipped then the disc will not play. It still might work if the damage is on the outer layer but if further use you can risk damaging the disc and the player.
- If the disc isn't dirty or damaged but there are still playback issues then it may be a software issue.
Disc is Incompatible
If the disc is not playing, check if the disc format is compatible with the player.
- Check if the disk is compatible with the BDP-Bx 320. Here is a list of CDs not compatible with the device • BDs with cartridge

- If the disc is compatible but there are still playback issues then it may be a software issue.
Device Needs a Reset
A reset reinitializes the core hardware components, ending all software issues that cause playback issues.
- Press the power button on your device for 10 seconds or more to turn it off. Unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet then plug it back in. Turn on the device. Press the eject button and remove the disc. Then select BD-ROM 24p and select off.
- If you don't know how to set BD-ROM off, press the home button on the remote. Select Setup and then select Screen Settings. Then select BD-ROM 24p then select off.
- Setting off the BD-ROM 24P makes the TV receive a signal that displays it straight away.
Optical Drive Is Damaged
- The disc tray won't open if a streaming device (ex. Netflix, Hulu, etc…) is playing, exit the application or go to the home screen.
- If your disc tray is not working then follow these instructions to open the disc tray and remove the disc
- Turn off the device.
- Unplug the power cord.
- Leave the device unplugged for 30 seconds.
- Press and hold the OPEN/CLOSE button on the front panel of the disc player, and plug the power cord back in.
- After the tray opens, release the OPEN/CLOSE button.
- Remove the disc.
- After you remove the disc, unplug the power cord and then plug it back in to recover the player.
- If the issue continues then, follow this guide to replace the optical drive.
