Streaming disconnection (BD-Live server)
Unable to connect the the BD-Live network
Check for a network connection or USB device with enough storage
- Test whether the network connection is working using the network status function.
- Check whether a USB memory device is inserted into the front panel USB port.
- Verfiy that the USB device has at least 1GB of free space to work with BD-Live
- Verify that the BD-Live internet connection option is set to allow.
- If all the above fails , update the player to the latest firmware.
Won't load Blu-ray disc or playback skips
Some Blu-ray discs will not load properly or give and error
You may have a defective disc or disc is dirty
- Ensure that the disc is installed with the label side facing up.
- Check the region number of the Blu-ray disc. Should be region 1 for US
- Make sure that the disc is not dirty or damaged. Use a lint free cloth to remove any fingerprints. Look at the data side of the disc while reflecting it into a light. Finger prints and smudges will easily show up in the reflection.
Screen is blank
The player turns on but there is no display on the screen.
The HDMI cable may be bad or player may have been set to wrong video format.
- Make sure that the HDMI cable is completely plugged in at both the output of the player and at the input of the TV.
- If you are connected through an AV receiver, check that the settings on the reciver are correct (VIDEO-1, VIDEO-2, etc).
- Try replacing the HDMI cable with another one
- It may be possible that the player was set to a video format that you TV does not support.
- To reset the player to factory settings, press the stop button on top of the player for more than 5 seconds with no disc inserted.
Note that you will lose any settings that you have made and will lose any apps you have downloaded

I can't remember the password or somebody has changed it!
Resetting the password to its default setting 0000

This will delete everything and set the player back to default settings.
Blu-ray wont play mp3 some files from the USB device
You can see your USB device but do not see any music (MP3) files.
The player settings may not be selected to play music files
The device settings may may be configured to show only videos or photos. To change the settings to play music files, configure the player as follow:
- Turn the player on.
- Connect the USB device to the USB port on the front panel.
- Select Photos, Videos and Music on the home screen, and then press the button with the select button (the center button between the arrows).
- Select ALL CONTENT and then press the Select button again.
I cannot play media files from a PC on the same wireless network
When I select my PC to play a media file, the error message:
Request cannot be completed. MEDIA PLAY will return to the main screen.
pops up.
The shared settings of the PC have not been configured to allow sharing to the player.
To enable sharing for the BD-F5900, perform the following:
- On the PC, go to Control Panel>Network and Internet>Homepage
- Click on Allow all devices on this network such as TVs and game consoles to play shared content.
- A list should pop up displaying the available devices on your network.
- Locate the device for your player ([BD]F5900) and select the check box next to Allowed.
- Click on the Next button on the bottom of the screen.
- On the next screen, select which content you would like to share (Pictures/Video etc.) and click Next
- A password for the Homegroup may show up. This password is not necessary for the player.
- Click Finish
