Nails are inaccurate
Nail are firing off target.
Adjust the shingle guide
The shingle guide is intended to account for sloped work-surfaces. Inaccurate adjustment may do the opposite.
Broken or damaged nosepiece
The nosepiece of the nailer should be replaced if it is broken or damaged. See here for a guide.
Nailer will not fire
The nailer is not firing nails.
Jammed nailer
Make sure you remove any jammed nails. If the nailer continues to jam then adjust the magazine's size offset to the correct one.
Incorrect setting on air supply
Inspect the air supply's PSI setting. Refer to the manufacturer’s specifications for the correct PSI.
Low quality nails
Always use the right nails for the job. Low quality nails may not perform to specification as intended by the manufacturer.
Nails aren't firing hard enough
The nails will fire but not pierce all the way through.
Incorrect settings on air supply
Inspect the air supply's PSI setting. Refer to the manufacturer’s specifications for the correct PSI. If that doesn't work then try a higher setting.
There is debris in the way
First, unplug your nailer. Then clean out any accumulated debris in the nail's exit point.
Nailer fires on its own
The nailer fires at random times while the button is not being pressed.

Inspect the air supply's PSI setting. It may be too high. Refer to the manufacturer’s specifications for the correct PSI.
The nailer is faulty
Desist in operating the nailer, and remove it from the air supply. Contact the manufacturer of the device and follow the steps they give.
The nailer will not retract
The nailer has been fired and the driver/cylinder will not retract.
Bent nail or some other type of debris is in the way
Check the nosepiece of the nailer and make sure there that it is clear of any debris.
The cylinder is jammed inside of the nailer
Try lubricating the nailer. See here for a quick guide.
Nails coming out bent
The nails are bent when they are fired.
