Power Problems
No signs of power to the projector. If the battery has worked before and suddenly has stop holding charge or charging all together, then the battery may need to be replaced as it may be faulty.
Charge the Internal Battery
The PicoPix should come with a charging cable. It should be charged for at least 3 hours before use.
Replace the Internal Battery
If charging your device doesn’t fix the issue, you can replace the internal battery using this guide.
Poor Image Quality
The projected image seems to be blurry or fuzzy. Before taking apart the projector and removing the LED bulb, try tweaking the focus or the moving the projector closer to the projected surface. Small dirt or dust particles can stick to the lens and appear to be artifacts in the bulb. Giving the lens a quick wipe may be able to help.
Adjusting the Focus
Spin the focus wheel that is above the lens to adjust the focus. Also, adjusting the distance from the projected surface will help.
Cleaning the Lens
Do Not Use any household glass cleaners to clean the lens. Just use a microfiber cloth.
Artifacts
Replacing the A/V cable can help improve image quality or fix small dots and lines that appear.
Replacing the Lens
If none of the above work, you can replace the lens or display board inside the projector using this guide here.
No sound produced
It has both an internal speaker as well as an external input for headphones or external speakers. To determine if the internal speaker has any issues, test the volume or the audio out cable first.
Turning the Volume Up
Use the left and right arrows on the top of the projector to adjust the volume.
Bad Sound Quality from External Device
Check the audio out cable to see if it is functioning and installed properly. Adjust the volume on both the projector and the external device.
Hot to the Touch/Overheating
The device is very hot to the touch after being on for a short period of time.
The Open Vents on the Chassis are Clogged
It’s good to check the outside of the device to see if the built in vents that lead to the fan are clogged with dust, or being blocked by anything.
Fan Replacement
If there is nothing blocking airflow through the device, the internal fan might be broken/worn out. If this is the case, refer to this guide.
Not Powering Off
The device wont turn off/stop displaying.
Check the Power Button
Check the state of the power button on the side of the device; make sure it’s all the way in the off position.
