OnePlus 9 Pro Overheating Issues

Is your OnePlus 9 Pro overheating when turned on? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.

The phone may be overheating and draining due to too many background apps being open.

To fix this:

1. With gestures, swipe up and hold from the bottom of the screen to bring up all the open apps on the phone. With buttons, tap the button with three horizontal lines to bring up the same page.
2. Press the clear all button at the bottom of the screen to clear all background apps that are running
3. Leave minimal apps running at the same time to prevent overheating from occurring

Some users reported having issues with overheating after updating their phones.

To fix this:

1. Try restarting the phone by holding the volume up and power button at the same time. Then swipe upwards to restart the phone.
2. If specific apps are causing the phone to overheat, go into the Google Play Store and search for updates. Updating apps allows them to optimize the performance of your phone.

If your internet connection is receiving or sending too much traffic it could cause delays to your processor, which would cause the phone to overheat.

To fix this:

1. Restart your phone by holding the volume up and power buttons at the same time. Swipe upwards to restart the phone.
2. Try turning off airplane mode, waiting for 10 seconds, then turning airplane mode back on. This resets the modem on your phone.
3. Continuous overheating can cause the phone battery to deteriorate, which means the battery might need to be replaced. If this happens, go to the battery replacement guide to replace the battery in the phone.
