Failure of Device Pairing 

The One Link Safe and Sound device will not pair to mobile device.

Bluetooth may not be enabled on Mobile Device 

Ensure the Bluetooth option is turned on in the mobile device. To do this, go in settings on your mobile device and turn on Bluetooth pairing. Make sure it is open to pairing. If Bluetooth is off, you won’t be able to pair to the alarm.

For Apple/ IOS devices go to settings>Bluetooth>turn on and also iCloud keychain must be on the device

Android devices go to settings>connection preferences>Bluetooth>turn on

Reset the Safe & Sound by pressing the Test/Silence button 3 times and waiting for it to flash blue. Pair it through the Bluetooth connection whether on IOS device or android.

Device is not connected to Wi-Fi

This could be due to the your wifi router not being connected correctly. Check the devices specifications for wifi requirements on wifi connectivity and make sure your modem is at the correct requirements. If this does not help please contact the First Alert support team onelinksupport@firstalert.com.

Alexa Not Responding

Alexa is not responding to voice commands.

Alexa’s microphone is disabled 

Check to see what Alexa is hearing and if the microphone is muted. You can do this by going in the Alexa app and going to settings>Activity and seeing what it is it heard and checking the Wi-Fi connection. On the OneLink Home app go to your Amazon account go to menu>accounts>Alexa and verify that it is connected, if not then connect device. Download OneLink Home Skill and OneLink Nightlight skill and verify it is also connected and this should work.

Apps not downloading

If the app is not downloading or installing the the best option is to contact Customer Service Team.

 Chirping Sound ( 1 chirp per minute) 

The device sounds a chirping noise once per minute constantly.

Device is not securely mounted

Check that the bracket isn't facing the wrong direction. The logo should be facing downwards. Make sure the logo is visible and that the bracket is upside down. you cannot see the OneLink logo on the mounting bracket, the bracket is upside down. By doing this also. make sure the unit is securely twisted onto the bracket. Once this is done reset the power and check battery life.

The device needs a hardwire reset 

If chirping continues, the device may need a hardwire reset. Unmount the unit and turn off A/C power. Wait 15 to 20 seconds, restore power, and remount the unit.

Yellow Flash and Horn Sounds (triple chirping) 

A yellow light flashes from the device and three chirping noises sound once per minute.

Alarm is malfunctioning

This is indicates the alarm is malfunctioning, and must be replaced immediately.

If the unit is under warranty, the device may be returned to the manufacturer for a replacement. Contact First Alert’s customer service team at onelinksupport@firstalert.com with model number and date of purchase to receive your replacement device.

Chirping Sound ( 5 chirps) 

The device releases a chirping sound five times per minute.

Alarm needs to be reset 

This is due to the alarm being at the end of its life, about to die.

Reset the unit. Unmount the device and reset the power. Use the circuit breaker to turn AC off and wait about 20 seconds and turn it back on and mount device back.

Device may have wiring issue 

Chirping noises can sometimes indicate an issue with the orange interconnect wire for your Safe and Sound unit. Turn off the power and check your device’s wiring.

The orange interconnect wire is what allows the device’s detectors to communicate with each other successfully, although it is not and cannot be used as a power source to the unit. Ensure the orange wire inside the device is properly attached securely.

White LED light turns off 

The white light that is constantly illuminated on the device is no longer lit.

Alarm is running on battery backup

This indicates the alarm is running on its battery back-up.

Check all connections. A constant white LED light implies the device is getting a constant connection. When this light turns off, this means one of the wires may not be installed completely, causing a shortage. Ensure all wire connections are intact and in place.
