Poor Speaker Quality
When the volume is turned all the way up, the speaker does not work correctly.
Dirty Speaker Port
Since the charging port is left uncovered, dust and debris can build up over time. The dirt might block the speaker, resulting in a muffled sound. To remove dust and debris, use a compressed air can to blow the particles out.
Note: Turn off the phone and remove the battery before using compressed air.
Faulty Ringtone
If the speaker is malfunctioning while a ringtone is playing, the issue might not be with the speaker but with the ringtone itself. Some ringtones are not fully compatible with the phone, so they may play muffled, too loud, or not at all. To figure out if the ringtone is faulty, try playing a ringtone native to the phone. If the native ringtone plays with no issues, your speaker is functioning correctly.
Faulty Temporary Settings
Sometimes, when phones have not been restarted for a while, temporary settings can cause problems. The easiest way to prevent this is by shutting down your phone once a day.
To ensure that your phone undergoes a complete reboot, shut the phone down and remove the battery for one minute.
The Phone Reboots Randomly
While the phone is on, the phone restarts without the user’s intention.
Faulty Software
Usually, when a phone restarts itself, something is stopping the phone from running smoothly. The phone restarts itself to try and fix the issue. If your phone continues to reboot randomly, perform a Master Reset. To do so, press the ‘Menu’ key, select ‘Settings’, select ‘Initial Setup’, then select ‘Master Reset’.

The Phone Frequently Freezes
When you try to perform regular functions, the phone does not respond, and the display stays frozen in place.
Faulty Software
Your phone may have too many things going on at once. When this happens, software may be slow and corrupted, affecting the resolution and processing speed. To solve this issue, perform a master reset. To do so, press the ‘Menu’ key, select ‘Settings’, select ‘Initial Setup’, then select ‘Master Reset’.

Faulty SIM Card
If the Master Reset has not resolved your issue, consider troubleshooting your phone’s SIM card. First, attempt to clean the SIM card. Turn off your phone, remove the battery, then remove the SIM card. Using a clean, lint-free cloth, wipe down the gold connectors of the SIM card. Using a compressed air can, spray the SIM card port on your phone. Test your phone and see if cleaning the SIM card has worked. If your phone still freezes, replace the SIM card.
Faulty Display Screen
If you have performed a Master Reset and replaced your SIM card, the next step is to replace the screen.
Faulty Motherboard
If the screen is not causing the issue, consider replacing the motherboard.
Volume and Silencer Buttons Are Not Responding Properly
The volume and silencer buttons will not respond or it responds to non-existent stimuli.
Dirty Volume Buttons
It is possible that dust has accumulated underneath the volume buttons and is affecting their performance. To clean out this dust, first turn off the phone. Then remove the volume buttons and use a can of compressed air to clean out the area. Replace the volume buttons when finished.
Faulty Software
The software may be slow and corrupted, affecting the volume performance. You may need to Master Reset the phone if the issue persists. To do so, press the ‘Menu’ key, select ‘Settings’, select ‘Initial Setup’, then select ‘Master Reset’.

Permanent Black Screen
The Phone screen is black and will not respond.
Faulty Software
The phone’s software may be overloaded and not be able to display images on the screen. If the phone is on but displays a black screen, turn off the phone by holding the ‘Power’ key for two seconds. This button is directly below the ‘Messages’ key.
Turn the phone back on by holding the same ‘Power’ key.
Low or Dead Phone Battery
A dead battery will ensure a black screen for your phone. Make sure that the battery is properly charged. To charge the battery, connect the provided battery charger into an electrical outlet and plug it into the mini-USB port at the bottom of the phone.
Faulty Phone Battery
It is possible the phone’s battery is permanently dead and needs to be replaced. The Motorola V190 takes a Duracell Ultra CEL10016A Battery.
Note: New batteries will need to be charged right after installation.
Faulty Motherboard
If the issue persists, the motherboard might be faulty and need to be replaced.
Faulty Display Screen
If the motherboard is not causing the issue, replace the display screen.
All Incoming Calls Listed as “Unknown”
Caller ID lists every incoming call, even calls coming from stored phone numbers, as “unknown.”
Service Provider Issue
The issue may not be with the phone at all. Your service provider may need to enable caller ID for your phone. Consult your cell service provider to ensure that the issue is not coming from their end.
Faulty Software
Your data or software might be corrupted and need to be removed. You may need to Master Reset your phone. To do so, press the ‘Menu’ key, select ‘Settings’, select ‘Initial Setup’, then select ‘Master Reset’.

Corrupted Stored Numbers
The numbers on your phone might have become corrupted. Manually erase and then
re-enter all stored numbers in your cell phone’s phonebook.
To erase a stored number, press the ‘Menu’ key and select ‘Phonebook’. Scroll to the phonebook entry you wish to delete, then press the ‘Menu’ key again. You will then be given the option to delete the stored number.
To store a phone number, enter a phone number in the home screen. Press the ‘Store’ key. Then enter the name and other relevant details for the phone number.
Faulty SIM Card
If your stored numbers are saved on the SIM card, the issue might be with a faulty or dirty SIM card.
First attempt to clean the card by removing it and wiping the gold connectors of the SIM card with a clean cloth. Before putting the SIM card back in the phone, spray the SIM card port with a can of compressed air.
If the issue persists, replace the SIM card and manually enter your stored numbers to the new card.
