If you are seeing a message pop up on your device screen that says " HDD is not available for recording" that would be a hard drive issue a way to fix it would be to check different power supply adapters to see if it needs to be changed out.
Power adapter issue
try to replace the power supply adapter. Sometimes if the unit is a few years old the power cord will go bad causing the hard drive not to boot up, stopping the device from storing recordings. To fix this, change out the power cord
