If your Little Tikes Tobi 2 Interactive Karaoke Machine won't turn on when you press or hold the power button on the top of the device, follow this troubleshooting page.
The Power Button Is Turned Off
If the power button at the bottom of the machine is switched off, none of the buttons at the top will work, and there won't be any indication if the machine is on. Flip the machine over to check whether the switch is set to on. The switch at the bottom should look like this.
Batteries Are Missing
If there are no batteries in the machine, it won't turn on. Follow this guide to open the device and insert four new AA batteries into the socket. Check out this guide for instructions.
The Batteries Are Dead/Incompatible
If the batteries in the machine are dead or incompatible with the device, the machine will not receive power. Using different batteries could help indicate whether or not the current batteries in the machine are dead. Try taking out the current batteries from the socket and then placing new AA batteries in. If you are facing complications, here is a guide that walks you through each step with the specifics.
Batteries Are Facing the Wrong Direction
The batteries must be inserted into a specific position for the machine to receive power. Make sure the flat side of the batteries faces and touches the coils from the machine's battery socket.
Machine Battery Coils Are Rusted or Dirty
If the battery coils are rusted or dirty, it will hinder the machine's ability to receive power from the batteries. Use cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe down and clean the coils. Make sure to air dry the battery holder before replacing the batteries.
Motherboard Failure
If the coils were wiped down adequately and the batteries replaced correctly, but the machine still doesn't turn on, then the motherboard may have failed and will need to be replaced. Follow this guide to replace the motherboard.
