Lenovo Thinkpad L14 Gen 2 Not Turning On
My laptop is not turning on even after plugging it in.
Due to the sensitive nature of electronic components, be sure to wear an electromagnetic wrist band or ground yourself by touching metal to avoid electrostatic discharge. Electrostatic discharge can fry your motherboard and make your computer not turn on.
Broken Battery
This could be a memory issue, since laptops generally can power on without a battery if they are plugged in. You may need to remove a memory module or replace it to get the power to turn on, otherwise it could be an electrical issue. Using a Phillips 00 screwdriver, loosen the 9 M2 x 7 mm screws from the back, and slide the blue pick around the edges to unbound the back panel. To remove the memory module, pull the right metal pin to the right and the left one left until the memory becomes unbounded. Then remove it by grabbing it by its edges and pulling it towards the direction of the top of the memory module. Set the module aside, and place the panel back onto the computer. To bind it back, push the panel down as you work your way around the perimeter of the case. Then tighten the 9 M2 x 7 mm screws, and try turning on the computer. If it does not power on, put the memory module back in, and remove the other one. After removing the back panel, insert the memory module at a 22.5 degree angle and make sure that the gold pins are not visible. Then push down lightly until the metal clips snap.
