Lenovo Thinkpad L14 Gen 2 Non Responsive Keyboard
My keyboard is not typing, one of my keys is irresponsive, there is a delay from when I type and when the words appear on the screen.
Due to the sensitive nature of electronic components, be sure to wear an electromagnetic wrist band or ground yourself by touching metal to avoid electrostatic discharge. Electrostatic discharge can fry your motherboard and make your computer not turn on.
Unresponsive Key
Check your drivers to make sure that they are up to date. If they are up to date and your keyboard is still not working, you may have to replace it. Using an iFixit opening tool, locate the trackpad buttons. Remove them by applying force to the bottom of the individual keys and set them aside. Then repeat the same process at the space in between the bottom of the keyboard and the top of the trackpad and push the keyboard towards the screen. Once the keyboard has been pushed out of its chassis and the securing slides are visible, grip the keyboard by both sides and flip it over. Remove the two-ribbon cable by flipping up the lock and gently pull the cable away by placing your fingers on the edge of the cable. Spray the cable and the port with compressed air and gently slide it back in. If that does not work, then replace the keyboard. Flip the keyboard back over and slide it into place by placing the top edge first into the computer, then slide the keyboard back in. Place the keys back in by placing the black part down, and push the keys down and snap them into place.
