Is your Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 1 not producing any sound from its speakers or connected audio device? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Speakers
Due to any outside circumstances, your speakers could be broken, and thus you would not be receiving any audio. Replacing with new speakers or possibly fixing old speakers would help with this problem.
If sound works only with headphones, it would be recommended to look at the built-in speakers and possibly replace them
- Restart the computer
- Check volume (make sure it’s not muted)
- Plug speakers in securely
- Try different speakers
- Replace broken speakers
Audio Device Not Detected
The system may not recognize the audio hardware if the driver or sound card is malfunctioning.
- Restart the computer
- Update or reinstall audio drivers
- Check Device Manager for errors
- Enable audio device in settings
- Replace faulty sound card if needed
Very Low or Distorted Audio
A failing speaker or sound chip may not process audio signals properly.
- Increase volume settings
- Check sound enhancements (turn off effects)
- Update audio drivers
- Test with different speakers/headphones
- Replace failing speakers or sound chip
