Lenovo ThinkPad L470 Won't Connect to Wi-Fi
Lenovo ThinkPad L470 does not access Wi-Fi connection or network.
Wi-Fi Disabled or Turned Off
Ensure that the wireless switch or function key (often Fn + F8 or F9) is turned on. Open Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and make sure the toggle is set to On. If using Airplane Mode, disable it to restore network connectivity.
Router or Network Issues
Verify that other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network. Restart your router or modem and wait 30 seconds before reconnecting. If only the ThinkPad is unable to connect, try forgetting the network and reconnecting by re-entering the password.
Airplane Mode On
Ensure that Airplane mode is turned off. You can find this setting by clicking the network icon on the taskbar or by going to Settings > Network & Internet.
Windows Network Troubleshooter Misconfiguration
Windows includes a built-in tool that can automatically find and fix common network problems. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Then, select Network troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
Outdated or Disabled Network Adapter
Access Device Manager, expand Network adapters, and find your wireless adapter. If it has a down arrow, right-click and Enable device. If it has a yellow exclamation mark, right-click and select Update driver, then search automatically for drivers. If the adapter is missing, try showing hidden devices or manually reinstall the driver.
Corrupted or Missing Wi-Fi Driver
Download the latest wireless LAN driver for your L470 from the Lenovo Support website. In Device Manager, uninstall the current Wi-Fi adapter driver, including its software if prompted. Then, install the downloaded driver and restart your laptop.
System Network Settings Corruption
In Settings > Network & Internet, find Advanced network settings, then Network reset. Click Reset now and confirm. Your PC will restart, and you'll need to reconnect to your Wi-Fi using your password.
Network Command Processes Malfunctioning
Open Command Prompt as an administrator. Run the following commands: netsh winsock reset, netsh int ip reset, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, and ipconfig /flushdns. Restart your computer.
