Lenovo ThinkPad L470 Not Powering On
The Lenovo ThinkPad L470 laptop does not respond when pressing the power button and fails to turn on. This page offers some common solutions to this issue!
Battery Is Completely Drained
Over time, the internal battery can lose all its charge, therefore preventing the laptop from powering on. Connect the laptop to its original Lenovo AC power adapter and leave it plugged in for at least 15-30 minutes before attempting to power it on again. Make sure the charging indicator light turns on. If it doesn’t, try using a different power outlet or adapter to ensure the device is receiving power.
Faulty Or Unseated Battery
A loose or faulty battery connection can also stop the laptop from receiving power. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the external battery by sliding the battery release latches on the underside of the device. Hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to drain any remaining power from the system, then reinsert the battery firmly and reconnect the AC adapter. Once secured, try turning the laptop back on.
BIOS Or Firmware Issue
A corrupted Basic Input/Output system or firmware problem can also prevent the ThinkPad from starting. Connect the charger, then press and hold the Fn + R keys while pressing the power button. Continue holding the keys for about 10 seconds to trigger an emergency BIOS recovery. If the recovery menu appears, follow the on-screen instructions to restore the firmware.
Motherboard Or Power Circuit Failure
If none of the above solutions resolve this issue, the laptops motherboard or power circuitry may be damaged. In this case, the device will likely need professional repair. Contact Lenovo Support or visit an authorized service center for diagnosis and replacement of the affected components.
