Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 2 Running Slowly
My device is slow when trying to use software, or open more chrome tabs, as well as any new data keeps disappearing after I try to save it to my device and it keeps freezing up.
Caution: Due to the sensitive nature of electronic components, be sure to wear an electromagnetic wrist band or ground yourself by touching metal to avoid electrostatic discharge. Electrostatic discharge can fry your motherboard and make your computer not turn on.
Too Many Open Tabs
A slow running device can be caused by lots of issues, including too many tabs open and general age. Similarly, if your personal files are taking up too much room in your memory storage, it can cause your computer to run slower. Try closing nonessential tabs and deleting unnecessary files to clear up room and improve device performance.
Water Damage
In case of water damage, make sure your device is unplugged and shut off, preferably, with no charge. ******Using a 00 Phillips screwdriver, unbolt the 9 spring-loaded M2 x 5mm screws from the back panel and use the iFixit pick to unbind it. Check your hardware for any signs of water spots or stains. Dry any visible liquid gently with an absorbent cloth. Move your device to an area with sufficient airflow, leaving the cover off, and allow it to completely dry.
Overheating
This can be caused by overheating. Check your system by powering on your computer and pressing the F1 key repeatedly to enter the BIOS. Under the setup menu on the left, click on the “Config” option second from top. Locate the System Intelligent Cooling option and press enter. A menu should pop up with different options. Using your arrow keys or your mouse, select “Battery Saving”. Then go to the “Exit” option at the top of your screen and save your settings.
