Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 Keyboard Non-responsive
When your keyboard does not operate the way it should or you have keys that are non-responsive. Follow these steps to get your ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 keyboard responsive.
Keyboard has Damage or Debris
To start your repair it's important to look over your device to see what may be causing your keyboard to be non-responsive.
- Restart your device
- Check for physical damage
- Clean the keyboard by tilting and gently shaking it to remove debris.
Keyboard Drivers Need to be Updated
Your driver includes all software to make your ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 run properly. If your device is not updated this may cause your keyboard to be unresponsive.
- Open Device Manager by pressing your Windows key and x
- Expand the keyboards selections
- Right-click on your keyboard device
- Select uninstall device
- Restart your computer and Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
Perform a Hard Reset
A hard reset should only be performed as a last solution to fix your ThinkPad E14 Gen 2. This will erase all data, but may resolve non-responsive keys if the problem was caused by a software or power glitch.
If the problem started recently, use System Restore to revert your system to a previous state. If that does not fix the problem, perform a hard reset.
- Shut down your device
- Unplug the power adapter
- Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds to force a shutdown
- Press it again to turn on your device
