If your Jabra Evolve2 65 headset sound quality isn't as good as it was the first day you bought it, there could be a number of possible underlying issues- and possible fixes to those issues. Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Low Battery
Battery charge status can be assessed by seeing what color the LED next to the charging port is. If your headset's LED is flashing red, it means that the battery is critically low and needs to be charged.
- Charge the headset with the USB-C charging cable that came with the headset until fully charged (the LED stays a constant green).
- If the headset is charged but the audio quality has not improved, restart the headset.
Improper USB Dongle Connection
A loose USB dongle connection can negatively impact the headset's audio quality.
- Ensure that the USB dongle is firmly connected to the output audio device by pushing the dongle in all the way into the port.
Out of Date Software
Because headset vendors regularly update their products' software, it is important to maintain the most up to date software version.
- Download and use Jabra Direct to check for and install most up to date firmware updates.
In a Call
Many Bluetooth headsets switch their operation mode during calls to conserve bandwidth and ensure clear communication even at the expense of audio quality.
- Hang up the call and restart your headset.
Smart Sound (Intel)
Smart Sound is a new technology from Intel that aims to improve audio quality on Intel-based computers, but has, on occasion, been known to negatively affect audio quality.
- Go to Device Manager settings, navigate to "Sound, video, and game controllers" section, and disable Intel Smart Sound Technology for the Jabra headset.
