When your JBL Flip 6 is plugged in to external power, is the device not holding a charge or charging at all? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Faulty Cable or AC Adapter
It is possible that your USB cable or AC adapter may be broken, in which case the Flip 6 would not be charging due to an external issue. The safest and easiest option would be to try a known-working cable and AC adapter and see if the issue is resolved.
Bent Metal Cable Inside Device
Some internal cables may become bent over time as the device is used. This could cause a bad connection between the USB port and the motherboard, causing the device to not charge. To fix this, you will need to open the device, unplugged from charging, and carefully locate the white ribbon wire connected to the USB port board. Once located you will have to unplug the ribbon wire connector attached to the USB port, straighten the connecting end, reconnect the connector, and put the device back together.
Internal Cable is Loose Due to Vibrations
It is possible that the internal USB to motherboard connector may come loose over time. This could result in no connection between the USB port and the motherboard, causing the device to not charge. To fix this, you will need to open the device, unplugged from charging, and carefully locate the white ribbon wire connected to the USB port board. Once located you will have to unplug the ribbon wire connector attached to the USB port, reconnect the connector (making sure it is snug), and put the device back together.
