If your HyperX CloudX Stinger Core 4P5J9AA microphone is not picking up sound, this troubleshooting guide will help you identify common causes and fix the issue.
The Microphone is Muted via the Headset Switch
The built-in mic on the HyperX CloudX Stinger Core has a mute feature.
How to Fix:
- Locate the mute button on the cable wire.
- Check if mute button is on. If so, turn the mute button off my pressing it.
- If the previous bullet point did not resolve the issue, check if the microphone cable is damaged. If so, refer to this link to replace the cable wire.
Improper or Loose Connection
A partially connected 3.5mm jack can prevent the mic from working properly.
How to Fix:
- Unplug cable wire from whatever device your headphones are connected to. Then reinsert the 3.5mm jack into your device until it clicks.
- If you are using an adapter or splitter, confirm the adapter or splitter is fully connected and functional.
- If the audio jack is damaged, you will need to replace the cable wire. Refer to this guide to do so.
Physical Damage
If the mic arm is bent, loose, or visibly damaged, it may be time for a replacement.
How to Fix:
- Inspect the microphone for visible damage. If there are cracks or loose fittings, you may need a new microphone.
- If broken, contact HyperX support for warranty or part replacement.
- Once you have received the new microphone, refer to this guide to replace the microphone.
