The Headphones Will Not Connect to Device
Headphones are not connecting to devices.
Bluetooth is Off
Bluetooth for the device you are trying to connect the headphones to maybe turned off. The best solution would be to enter device settings and switch Bluetooth from off to on. Do not hesitate to look up additional information on the web as the location for device settings vary depending on the appliance.
Headphones May Not be Charged
This applies to people who bought the headphones fresh from the store. The best option would be to charge the headphones. After 2 to 3 hours of charging, the head phones should connect to the device with no problem.
Device Maybe Out of Range
The device maybe out of range from your headphones. Devices should be kept kept within close proximity from the headphones. If not, it can result in sound buffering and eventual disconnection from the device.
Maybe Connected to Another Device
The headphones maybe connected to another device. Turn off the Bluetooth connection from the device the headphones are connected to, and reconnect it to the device you want it to connect to.
Charging Issues
Headphones are not charging.
Faulty Charger
When your headphones won't charge, simply remove the USB cable and insert a replacement cord. Charging cables house delicate wires that can break with too much tension, and it can be hard to tell if it is broken. To rule out whether the charging cable is the problem, try charging the headphones with a different cable. As removing the USB cord from headphones over and over could lead to damaging of the device.
Faulty Outlet
The outlet you could be using to charge your headphones may be a faulty outlet. Check to see if your headphones are charging from the outlet you are using. If not, the outlet is not working, and you may have to try a nearby outlet in another room.
Debris in the Port
Debris in the charging port can hinder your headphones from receiving power properly from charger. Cleaning the port should get your headphones charging again. This method is super easy and can be done in no time. All you’ll need is a can of compressed air and a toothpick or any thin, non-metallic object.
To clean the port follow these steps:
- Step 1: Start by firing compressed air into the port to drive out debris. (Note: When spraying your can of compressed air, make sure to hold the can upright to avoid spraying water into the port.)
- Step 2: Check the port to ensure all debris has been cleared. If there is any dirt remaining, carefully use a toothpick or a thin, nonmetallic object to remove it. Gently scrape the port from wall to wall, while avoiding the pins inside. (Note: Be careful when cleaning the interior of the charging port, as the electrical connectors inside are delicate and can be broken if too much force is applied.
- Step 3: Once you’re done clearing away debris, blast compressed air into the port a few more times to ensure all residue is cleared out.
Not Turning On
Headphones are not turning on.
Dead Batteries
The simplest answer would be that batteries for the headphones are dead and need charging. All that has to be done to resolve this issue would be to recharge the headphones. After 2 to 3 hours of charging, the device should turn on without any problems or issues.
Reset the Device
If problems persist, you may need to reset the device. Disconnect the device from Bluetooth and turn the headphones off. Then turn the headphones back on and see if that fixes the issues. This method can also help fix other issues the headphones may have.
Unresponsive Buttons
Buttons on my headphones are not working.
Too Much Force Applied
Many users of Bluetooth may be applying too much force on the headphone buttons. Since the buttons on the headphones are very small and fragile, any heavy amount of force could easily break or damage the buttons. Try to not pressing as hard to avoid breaking them.
Might Have to Take the Headphones in for Repair
Maybe the headphones are probably broken, and they may need repairing. The best solution for this issue would be to take your headphones in for repair. Google the nearest store or shop that repairs electronic appliances, and head over to shop. Depending on how long it takes for the repairs, the buttons should be repaired. Do not try to repair on your own as it can risk further damage.
Out of Date
Depending on the model headphones you may have, they may simply be old and worn out due to overuse. The best option for this would be to get a replacement headphone set. As it would not do any use to try and fix them at this point.
Emit Uneven and Distorted Sound
The sounds coming out of the headphones are distorted and not working properly.
Distortion from Weak Bluetooth Connection
Bluetooth devices have plenty of wireless connection challenges that cause a fuzzy or distorted audio signal. Poor Bluetooth connection results from long distances between the Bluetooth headphones and audio transmitter, interference from jammed RF channels of other electronic devices, low signal power from your Bluetooth device, and limitations of the version of Bluetooth technology you are using. To stop distortion in Bluetooth headphones, make sure none of the above elements are present. Here’s how:
- Ensure there is no magnetic interference that may be causing degradation of the signal.
- On iOS and Android devices, go into Bluetooth settings and see which device is paired. Disable unnecessary connections, as these can cause interference and affect wireless transmission performance.
Distortion from Wired Headset
The cord may simply not be connected to the device, or in more extreme cases, it has broke. Here are some tips on how to fix this issue.;
- Have you switched it on and off again? Yes, that’s the obvious answer, but it’s worth unplugging and plugging in your headset again. If you can wiggle your connector, and that makes the static come and go, you can narrow the problem down also.
- Try using a can of compressed air if you’re using a jack. First, spray the connector to remove any dust. If you don’t have a can of compressed air, blow into it with short puffs of air. After this, wipe the metal plug and try again.
- You can also try plugging your headset into someone else’s device to see if you’re still getting interference. If the static stops, then the issue is with your headset.
- Try borrowing another pair of headsets you know are working well and plug them into your device. If they work fine, you have a connection issue on yours.
- If your headset uses a USB connection, the USB cord may be damaged. If the cable is damaged, the static will be heard through the headset. The solution is to repair or replace the USB cable or buy a new headset.
Damaged Ear-Pad
Damaged ear pads can result in muffled sound inputs. The best option for this method would be to replace the ear pad for the headphones. Replacing the pads is extremely easy. In most cases, it takes less than 10 minutes. Here are some general guidelines for how to fix headphone cushions by replacing them with new ones:
- Buy a replacement headphone cushions. You need to get something that is compatible with your headphones and something that is high enough quality to last and provide the same level of comfort as your old ones.
- Gently tug on old cushions to remove them. In most cases, this is all it takes. If you find that gentle tugging is not working, check for screws that may be holding the cushion in place. You’ll need a knife or small screwdriver to remove these and then tug on the cushion to remove it.
- Stretch new cushion over the headphones. Simply stretch the edges of the new cushions over the headphones until they are firmly and securely in place. If there were screws involved, you may need to put these back in place. However, if the cushions fit securely without sliding around already, you can opt to skip the screws (but we recommend saving them in a safe location in case you decide you want to put them back in later).
