My computer shows no signs of life. I replaced the battery charger, but it still won't power up, plus the charging light doesn't come either.
I know that the battery needs replacing, but I read that the HP pavilion G7 1150 doesn't need the battery to run. In fact, they recommend removing the battery if you plan to keep it plugged into a power supply.
Is it possible that the charging port is bad?
And I'd like someone else to verify that this notebook doesn't need a battery to run. It is only required to be plugged into a charger.

The keyboard response is incorrect, i.e., the wrong character is displayed from what was typed. Sometimes multiple characters from one entry.
