Device does not boot to Windows
If your laptop is not be able to boot, these are the steps to take in checking if it is BIOS related
- Open the BIOS
- Press the ESC key repeatedly to start
- Run a Hardware Diagnostic tool
- Through the BIOS, run a Hardware Diagnostic Tool to assess your drive
- Check for damage
- If that does not yield the menu, or if a drive is not detected, be sure to check for damage to your device. There may be a hardware failure within your device.
Startup Menu does not appear
- Perform a hard reset
- To perform a hard reset on your device, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. Be sure that the AC Adapter is unplugged.
- Additional actions
- Error codes such as “No Boot Device” means you need to install an Operating System on your device
