HP EliteBook 725 G3 Battery Doesn't Hold a Charge Troubleshooting
Your HP EliteBook frequently dies, and you cannot use it without it being plugged in almost constantly. Follow these steps to eliminate the problem.
Battery Degradation
First try and adjust the power settings and close any applications that you are not using. Also disconnect any cords plugged into the computer as they take power away. If you are still having the issue, avoid having the computer in extreme temperatures. If the problem still remains, follow these steps to replace the battery.
Faulty Power Cord
Look for physical damage or exposed wires. If the computer is overheating when charging you have a faulty cord.A burning smell or crackling sound indicates a faulty power cord.If any of these exist, replace the power cord.
Blocked Charging Port
Look and see if you can see anything in the charging port. Use compressed air or a soft brush to get everything out.
Overheating
If the laptop is overheating every time first clean the air vents and cooling fan. Then adjust the settings such as closing out tabs and getting rid of things that you are not using. If the laptop still overheats then replace the battery.
Power Management Settings
Open the settings of your laptop and scroll until you find the power section. Within there you should be able to adjust your settings based on your needs so that your battery won't drain as quickly.
