Computer cannot connect to Wireless
Computer won’t connect to the wireless module on the Epson BrightLink 450Wi or is not detected.
Wireless Module may not be installed correctly
- For the wireless component of the Epson BrightLink 450Wi to work, you must ensure the wireless LAN module is installed. It can be plugged in below the air filter. Assuming it is inserted, you may then plug the secondary USB key for the module into the Type A USB plug in the Epson BrightLink 450Wi port encasing. A pop-up will appear saying that the network information update is complete. Disconnect the USB key and plug it into the computer. Follow on-screen instructions to complete setup. Distorted audio over speakers
Speaker audio is not working and/or distorted.
Possible Loose Connection
- Connections may be loose for audio jack or other components. Open the Epson BrightLink 450Wi ports encasing and firmly plug the connections.
Incorrect plugs
- If using RCA cables make sure the RED cable is plugged into the Red ‘R’’ port and the white cable is plugged into the white ‘L’ port.
Sounds is playing through computer
- Unless using RCA cables or AUX cables, the audio will be playing from the main computer.

Image not displaying correctly
Epson BrightLink 450Wi is on and displays incorrect/distorted images.
Possible Loose connections
- Cables might not be slotted correctly inside the casing. Access the connection slots using this guide up to step BLANK. Ensure all plugs are fully inserted and tight. Also ensure that they cannot be easily tugged.
Projector asking for password
When the Epson-BrightLink 450Wi turns on, it may or may not ask for a security password.
Default password may need to be entered
- If you never set a password but it asks for one, enter 0000 as the default password.
Security feature may need to be enabled
- Press the Freeze button on the remote control for 5-7 seconds. Select which types of password you want to use. Use arrow buttons to select and press enter. To change password select YES. Enter a 4 digit password by holding down the NUM button and using the numeric keypad. Click ENTER and re-type password. You have now enabled the password.
If password is lost
- After you enter an incorrect password too many times you will receive a number code. Contact Epson with the request code you see on the password screen.

Lamp not working/lighting up
Epson BrightLink 450Wi has no image coming from it.
Epson-BrightLink 450Wi may not be on
- Click the power button on the bottom of the BrightLink 450Wi. It will flash then hold green when it is started up.
Epson-BrightLink 450Wi is on, but may be in standby or sleep mode
- If there is an orange light on the BrightLink 450Wi, it is in standby mode. Press the power button to wake it up. If this does not work, click the A/V mute button on the remote.
Epson-BrightLink 450Wi has solid green light and is not in A/V Mute but still no image
- The BrightLink 450Wi lamp may be malfunctioning. Replace it using THIS GUIDE.
