The EasySMX X15 controller features a D-pad on the lower-left portion, designed as a large, cross-shaped pad with four directional arrows that pivot around a central connection. Occasionally, the D-pad buttons may stick in one position, feel stiff when moving from the neutral center position, or fail to function correctly due to contact issues with the input board. If you encounter sticking or unresponsive D-pad buttons, follow these troubleshooting steps:
D-Pad Is Stiff Because It's New
Utilize for thirty minutes to an hour to 'break-in' the controller. If problem persists, continue to troubleshoot.
D-pad is Dirty
Disassemble the controller and inspect the area around the D-Pad. If there is build-up of grime, grease, etc. around the pad, or around the central connection point, clean with isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip. Allow the area to dry for five to ten minutes before reassembly and testing.
D-pad is Faulty or Damaged
If that fails, replacement of the button panel may be required. Please refer to the D-pad replacement guide.
