If the audio from your EPOS Sennheiser GSP 302 is crackly, fuzzy, muffled, or distorted, follow this page for possible solutions.
Volume Wheel Turned Down
- Make sure that the headset’s volume wheel is turned all the way up.
Faulty Connection
Sometimes the connection between the device and headset may not be complete.
The headset has two jacks connecting to the combo adapter: audio and microphone jacks.
- Ensure that each of these connections are proper by gently pushing together the jacks until you hear a soft click.
The combo adapter then has a singular jack that connects to a device.
- Ensure that the connection between the adapter and device is proper by gently pushing together the jacks until you hear a soft click.
Faulty Software/Source
Distorted audio on the headset can sometimes be caused not by the headset itself, but the driver on your device not being up to date.
- Test your headset on a different device.
- Go to your device’s Device Manager, and make sure the necessary drivers are installed and up to date.
If you are using Windows, you can install the latest Windows Update, which should automatically install the latest driver updates.
Faulty Headset Driver
The sound drivers inside the headset can be damaged if it is dropped from a significant height or exposed to physical bumps. A damaged driver might cause distorted or static-filled sound, and it might be in only one or both ears.
- If the sound issues/distortion occur in only one earcup, the driver in that earcup is likely blown. You will need to replace the damaged speaker driver.
- If you are hearing distortion in both earcups and all other issues have been ruled out, contact EPOS support for further help.
Motherboard Failure
If all other software and hardware suspicions have been ruled out, the motherboard itself may be at fault.
