Tablet won’t turn on
Battery won’t charge or hold charge
Check to see if you are getting a light from the device screen or the charging port. If you are not seeing a light that means you are not getting any power from the cable or wall. Check the cable from the wall to device and be sure it is sturdy and properly plugged in. If the connections are proper then your issue is most likely within the cable and will need a replacement cable.
Dead Battery
If you are not sure if the issue is your battery, make sure the device can power on and run while being plugged in. If the device runs but turns off the second it is unplugged or does not turn on at all, then you may need a new battery. Here is how you can replace the battery yourself “Using this Guide”
Tablet turns on then shuts down by itself
You go to turn your device on an throughout the booting process it shuts back down by itself.
Not enough RAM
If your device is slowing down or apps are not properly able to run, you may be lacking the amount of RAM needed to run your device. You may need to upgrade your RAM or follow “this guide” to replace you RAM.
Faulty RAM
If your device starts to boot up then shuts down in the process, your issue is most likely a faulty stick of RAM. You may need to replace your RAM card and can do so with “this guide”
Faulty Cable
Try your cable on another device to see if it’s working or not. If not then you need a new charging cable, and if it does work then there may be something wrong with your USB port or the battery
Perform a Power Cycle
When the screen is unresponsive and none of the buttons will work you can perform a power cycle. If your battery can be removed; remove it for a few seconds then put it back on and try powering on the device. If you can not remove your device, then press and hold the power button for several seconds (10-30). Then power on device
Faulty Battery
Plug your device in. If there is no light or the device does not automatically start up then leave it for 30 minutes to charge then come back to test it. If none of these options are working for you then your battery is most likely dead and needs replacing.
If you can remove the battery yourself then you can buy a new battery but may be voided the devices warranty. If you can not remove the battery yourself then take it to a specialist for replacement.
Screen won’t light up
Faulty Digitizer
If your screen goes off a little in hue then check to see if any settings have been changed. If display settings have not been changed the try plugging in the device to another screen via HDMI to see if the color stays or is removed. I the color is gone then you may need a screen replacement and can do so by following “this guide”
Faulty LCD
If you are seeing black spots or spider web type black cracks then your issue is most likely the LCD and you can follow “this guide” for replacement on the screen.
Defective screen
If screen still does not seem to respond then the problem could be due to a faulty screen and should need to be replaced.
If this final step fails, it is likely a hardware issue and you should follow that up with the manufacturer.
The power button is stuck
Hold down
- Make sure you are holding down the power button instead of just pressing it
Clean buttons
- Make sure that things like second-hand gunk and pocket lint are not stuck around the sides buttons.
- Grab a q-tip and put it into some high-percentage isopropyl alcohol.
- Clean the sides of the stuck button and on the surface. make sure to work the cotton fibers as far down into the cracks as possible
- Lastly, give the button a few clicks to help free up any grime that has accumulated
Canned air
- clean the button from derbies with some canned air and put the nozzle parallel to the stuck button
Unresponsive Power Button
When trying to power on the device there is no response from the power button.
Debris inside the power button assembly
Open the power button assembly and make sure to clean any visible debris and get a can of air to clean the assembly holding the can vertically and directing the airflow horizontally and not directly in the power button assembly.
The wiring of the power button is faulty
Lift the back cover of the tablet and check the wiring connections directly to the power button. The wiring connections should be intact and check the conditions of the wiring connections and compare it to working device wiring connections similar to yours.
The Speaker’s volume is too low or playing distorted sound
When the device is in full volume the sound is too low or the speaker sound is distorted when playing any audio.
Device volume is too low
Make sure the device is not in silent mode or vibration mode setting. Check the volume settings to check the speaker is on and media volume and call volume are on.
Speaker is not powerful enough
Some tablets are not equipped with the greatest speakers and sound may sound low or distorted.
Faulty Speaker
Speakers are not producing any sound, playing sound too low, or playing distorted sound.
