Dell Inspiron Mini 1210 Won’t Boot Up
The Inspiron Mini 1210 won’t turn on.
Faulty Power Outlet
- Verify the laptop is completely charged. You can do this by plugging the laptop into a power outlet. If the problem persists, then you must change to a different power outlet.
Operating System Error
- If the issue persists after changing power outlets, then it may be a problem with your hard drive or operating system. You can check this by running the 32bit diagnostic. If the diagnostic test passes, you will then reinstall the operating system. You will reinstall the operating system using the CD that came with the Dell Inspiron Mini 1210. You will place the CD inside the external driver, then reboot the laptop. Once it begins to boot, you will press F12 to finalize the installment.
Faulty Battery

- This is the final resort. You will unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet. BIOS Out of Date
- First, go to http://www.dell.com/support/drivers and manually select the product you are using. Once you find the product, you will click on the “BIOS category” button. Next, download the file, and save the file to your laptop or drive. Once downloaded, you must install the new update by double-clicking on the file. After downloading the new BIOS, you will restart the Dell Inspiron Mini 1210. Once the Dell Inspiron Mini 1210 begins to boot up, you will press the "F2" key. A window will appear. You can navigate through this window with your keys to the “advanced” tab. Once there, check if the charger behavior is enabled. Once you enable the charger behavior, you will restart your computer.

Laptop is Overheating
- First, check that the vents are not blocked by objects or dusk. If objects or dusk are blocking the vents, then you must unplug all external peripherals and manually wipe the dust (or move the objects) away. Finally, you will restart your Dell Inspiron Mini 1210.

- First, you will navigate to the settings menu. Once there, select the “Update & security” option. Next, you will click the recovery button and then “Get started” button to reset your Dell Inspiron Mini 1210. Once the process begins, you can either click the option to “Remove everything” or “Keep my files.” You will remove everything, and click continue until the system prompts you to reset. Click the reset button. Windows may take several minutes to an hour to reset. Once Windows resets, you will click continue to finish.
Reinstalling the Operating System
- This is the final resort. If the problem persists, you must uninstall and then reinstall the newest version of Windows to the Dell Inspiron Mini 1210. First, you must download the media creation tool on either a flash drive or DVD (with at least 4 GB of space). Next you must burn Windows onto the flash drive or DVD. Next, you will uninstall your Windows OS. You will insert the flash drive or DVD, then select the option to “Remove everything.” After uninstalling Windows, you will boot up the Dell Inspiron Mini 1210 from either the USB or the DVD. Next, select the correct once the system begins to boot up. Next, an activation screen will appear. You must select the “I don’t have a product key” option. This will prompt Windows to automatically activate and install onto the Dell Inspiron Mini 1210. Continue through the process, and select the “custom” installation.
