Dell Inspiron E1505 Troubleshooting

System does not boot into its OS.

Should you be unable to both turn on your Dell Inspiron E1505 and have the operating system boot then you will have to boot your device in safe mode. In order to boot your device in safe mode you must power on your device while pressing the F8 key multiple times. A battery unable to hold a charge will cause a laptop to not function unless it’s plugged into an outlet. In order to restore the mobility of your laptop you will need to replace the battery with a new one.

It’s possible that your Dell Inspiron E1505’s A/C power adapter or one of its cables or connectors has failed. In order to test and determine if this is the issue plug the power adapter into a known-working power outlet and ensure that the power adapter’s cables are firmly connected on all ends. Next try using the power adapter with another compatible laptop. If the compatible laptop reports that it is charging there may be an issue with either your computer’s power port or motherboard.

When the PC is turned on a blue screen appears.

Can not turn on the computer or it turns on and gives a corrupt hard drive error.

If the operating system fails to boot because due to a disk read error, the hard drive may be faulty and or corrupted. To resolve this issue take a moment to clean the hard drive connector pins and socket with an appropriate lens cleaning brush. Next listen for noises emanating from the hard drive. If the drive produces scratching or whining noises it may be faulty. Optical drive does not read or write CDs.

It is possible that the CD or DVD that you are entering into the optical drive is damaged or dirty. Before inserting any CD or DVD be sure that it is free of debris. If the disk isn’t clean you can take a cloth to the surface and wipe it clean. Alternatively the disk might be damaged in the form of scratches.

If the CD or DVD you’re attempting to use is in pristine condition the problem itself may lay with the optical drive itself. That particular disk may not be supported by the optical drive, the drive itself may be broken or the operating system could have some mild corruption.
