Mediocre Audio Quality
You have trouble hearing sounds from your Laptop
There is no Audio Output Installed
Step 1. Click on the "Start" button and go to "Control Panel."
Step 2. Click on "Hardware and Sound" then locate the "Device Manager" tab.
Step 3. Click on "Device Manager" and select "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC."
Step 4. Locate the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver."
Step 5. Select "Browse my Computer for Driver Software" and you will have the option to "Pick up a List of Device Drivers on my Computer." Select this option.
Step 6. Select "High Definition Audio Device" and click "Next." A warning message will appear, but reply "Yes."
Step 7. Exit out of the window.
Crackling Sound from Speakers
Step 1. Click on the "Start" button and go to "Control Panel."
Step 2. Click on "Hardware and Sound" then locate the "Device Manager" tab.
Step 3. Scroll down and double-click on "Sound, Video and Game Controllers."
Step 4. Double-click "Realtek High Definition Audio" and locate the "Driver" tab.
Step 5. You will see two buttons labeled "Disable" and "Enable." Click on the "Disable" button, then click "Enable."
Distorted Webcam
Your webcam produces distorted images.
Webcam Drivers Need to be Reinstalled
Step 1. Locate the "Search" button and right-click on the "Computer" tab.
Step 2. Click "Properties" and select "Device Manger."
Step 3. Locate the "Imaging Devices" tab and select "Integrated Web-Cam." An option to "Uninstall" will appear.
Step 4. Click "Uninstall," and a pop-up will appear to confirm the uninstall process. Click "Ok" to confirm.
Step 5. Once uninstalled, restart your computer.
Step 6. When your computer has finished restarting, your Webcam will automatically reinstall.
Glossy Screen
The glare on your screen prevents you from using your laptop.
Brightness is Too Low
Step 1. Right-click on your desktop and a drop-down menu will appear.
Step 2. Click on “Display Properties”, then click on “Color Correction.”
Step 3. A brightness scale will appear and you can adjust the brightness as needed.
Step 4. Slide the marker to the right to increase the brightness and slide the marker to the left to decrease the brightness.
Step 5. Once you have achieved your ideal screen brightness, click on “Apply” then click “Ok.”
Mouse
Your cursor is not working properly.
Sensor is Dirty
Step 1. Unplug your mouse from your Laptop.
Step 2. Use a dry cloth to wipe down the bottom of your mouse.
Step 3. Use a tooth pick to scrape away any dirt located near the sensor.
Step 4. Plug your mouse back into your laptop.
Touchpad Settings Need to be Adjusted
Step 1. Click on the "Start" button and go to "Control Panel."
Step 2. Click on "Hardware and Sound" then locate the "Mouse" tab.
Step 3. Select “Pointer Options” and you will see a "Touchpad Speed" tab and a "Touch Sensitivity" tab.
Step 4. To adjust the "Touchpad Speed," move the slider left towards the "Slow" option or to the right towards the "Fast" option.
Step 5. To adjust the Touch sensitivity, move the slider left towards the "Light Touch" option or to the right towards the "Heavy Touch" option.
Step 6. Once you have achieved your desired touchpad sensitivity, click "Ok" to save your changes.
