If your DRECELL VC021 vacuum does not pick up debris, follow these troubleshooting steps to get your vacuum working correctly.
Full trash cup
If the trash cup reaches full capacity, the vacuum will suffer reduced airflow, and further debris may not be picked up and collected in the cup.
- Release the trash cup, first turn the vacuum upside down with the nozzle facing the floor
- Once the vacuum is in position, firmly twist the trash cup, releasing it from the body
- The cup and filter will both come out, remove the filter and empty the trash cup
Clogged Filter
If large quantities of debris are caught in the filter, it will heavily impact the airflow and suction of the vacuum.
- To access the filter, remove the trash cup and remove the filter located in the cup
- If the filter is visibly clogged or the crevices are covered with dust and debris, rinse them under cold running water till the water runs through the filter clear.
- Air dry the filter for several hours, then re-install
If after thorough cleaning the filter remains clogged it is likely that a filter replacement is required
Low Battery
If the vacuum has a low battery, its performance might be affected, resulting in a weaker suction.
- Recharge the battery fully before use to ensure optimal performance
- If the battery no longer holds charge or drains quickly, consider replacing the battery
- Make sure that the vacuum's charging contacts are clean, and dust free as dirty contacts can prevent charging
Faulty Filter
If the filter needs to change after extensive use, the filter may not work correctly and changing filter is recommended for vacuum’s heavy usage.
- Hold the body of the vacuum and open the cap on the vacuum
- Start twisting the trash cup clockwise until you can lift it off
- Then from the top, lightly remove the filter (white) from the trash cup and dispose of it
- Lastly, with the new filter purchase, put it back in place before reassembling vacuum back into its original state with the step given above in reverse order.
Clogged Brush
During normal usage, large debris and hair may build up in the attachment brush. If the vacuum experiences a loss of suction with the brush attachment the issue may be the brush attachment itself.
- Detach the brush and inspect for visible debris and hair.
- Remove any visible debris and hair using your hands
