The Canon EOS Rebel XS 35mm is a camera that was produced by Canon of Japan from 1993 to 1996. It's known as the EOS Rebel XS in the North American market, the EOS Kiss in the Japanese Domestic market, and the EOS 500 in other markets outside Japan & North America.
Camera does not turn on
Camera does not appear to be turning on.
Battery Orientation
Batteries could perhaps be in the improper orientation. Place the batteries within the camera correctly.
Water Damage
If the the device is dropped in dropped in water, open the camera's cover and back latch cover to carefully dry with a clean cloth. If not completely dry, dry the camera with a hairdryer without placing it so closely to the camera. Then proceed to turn on the camera.
If the camera still does not turn on, try placing the camera within a bag of rice for a few days so the rice will absorb the water. After a few days try turning on the camera.
Blurred Photographs
Images on photos are not able to be seen clearly.
Camera will not focus
If the picture is not clear, it can be the shutter speed is slow. Checking the switch in the manual focus or try resetting it to the AF (auto focus) position. Another problem may be either be a lack of proper lighting or damaged lens can cause the development of the images to be blurred.
Shutter is not working
Shutter is not working properly.
Shutter may have to be replaced if dropped, crushed or handled roughly.
Sticky Buttons
Buttons slowly being pushed in and slowly popping back out to original position.
Dirt/grime build up
The buttons may be hard to press due to a build up of dirt overtime. Apply microfiber cloth or Q-tip with a small amount of cleaning solution and carefully clean the outer rim of sticky buttons.
