CAT S62 Overheating During Charging
The front and back of the CAT S62 phone becomes hot to the touch. The phone does not properly disperse heat.
Original/Compatible Charger Should be Used
Chargers that are not compatible with the device could lead to overheating during charging or might damage the battery. Using a charger other than the original ensures the voltage, amperage, and standards are compatible with the device.
Background Apps are Draining Battery
Apps running in the background may use a significant amount of battery, which can cause the device to overheat.
Method 1: Close recent apps
- Tap the square button on the bottom right of the screen.
- To close one app, swipe up on its thumbnail.
- To close all apps, find an option such as "Clear all" or "Close all," and then tap it.
Method 2: Force stop an app
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Apps & notifications.
- Tap See all apps.
- Scroll down and select the app you want to close.
- On the App info page, tap "Force stop" and confirm by tapping "OK".
Screen Brightness Needs to be Lowered
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the drop-down menu.
- Find the brightness slider and swipe left to lower the brightness.
Extreme Temperatures and Direct Sunlight Should be Avoided
High temperatures put stress on the battery and internal components, potentially leading to slower and worse charging quality. Keep the device out of direct sunlight and hot areas.
Phone Case Should be Removed
Taking off the case while your phone charges can help heat escape more easily and allow the device to cool down faster. The increased heat caused by the phone case that is not removed may cause the phone’s battery to degrade quickly.
Device System and Apps Need to be Installed/Updated
- Open the Settings menu. You can do this from the home screen by swiping up to view all apps, then finding and tapping the "Settings" icon.
- Scroll down and select "System".
- Tap on "Advanced" in the System menu.
- Select "System update".
- Tap "Check for update" or wait for the phone to automatically begin searching for available updates.
- Follow the on-screen instructions if an update is found.
