Water Damage
Dropping it into the water or moisture can short or corrode the autofocus motor and sensor, causing “Camera can’t be started” errors. The first thing you want to do is power off the device. After that, you dry the device by putting it into a water-absorbing material or device such as uncooked rice or silica gel packets. If you use the uncooked rice method, place the powered-off device in a bag or container of uncooked rice and let it sit for roughly 24-48 hours. If you use the silica gel packets method, place the powered-off device in a container of silica gel packets and let it sit for about 24-48 hours. Once either method is done, you can try to restart the device and test to see if the camera works.
Fall Damage
If you drop your BlackBerry Passport SQW100-1 from a high place off the ground, it is most likely that the camera will have a dislodged or misaligned autofocus coil. Replacing the camera with a new one is a way to fix it.
Overheating
Playing games that consume a lot of energy or using 1080p/60 fps recording sessions for an extended period can potentially lead to the camera burning and failing. In that case, you must replace the camera with a new one.
