If your Bissell CleanView Compact Turbo 3437F vacuum does not power on when the power switch is pressed, follow this troubleshooting guide.
Power Cord Not Fully Connected
- Push the plug firmly into the outlet to make sure there is not a loose connection.
- If this does not work, try a different outlet that you know works to make sure the issue is not a faulty outlet.
Tripped Circuit Breaker
If the outlets in a certain area of the building are not working, it is possible that a circuit breaker has been tripped
- Locate the circuit panel in your house and open the cover.
- See if any of the circuit breakers have been tripped into the “off” position.
- If so, flip the breaker back into the “on” position.
- Then, attempt to turn on the vacuum again.
Vacuum Overheated
- If you have used the vacuum for an extended period and it has suddenly turned off, it is possible that the internal motors are overheated.
- Wait 15 minutes for the system to cool down and then try to turn on the vacuum again.
Motor Jammed
- Check if you hear a humming noise when you attempt to power the vacuum on.
- If you do, check the brush roll and remove any blockage found.
- Then, try to turn on the vacuum again.
Bad Cord
- Completely unravel the vacuum cord and inspect it for any signs of damage.
- Check for any cuts or cracks, as well as any spots where the cord is unusually bent or twisted.
- If any damage is detected, the cord will have to be replaced. Check if your warranty is still active on the vacuum and send it in for repair if it is.
Bag Plug
- Inspect the plug that is attached to the cord.
- If the plug is missing a prong or is burnt or melted, the vacuum needs a replacement plug and cord. Check if your warranty is still active on the vacuum and send it in for repair if it is.
Faulty Power Switch
If the power switch has needed to be pressed multiple times to turn the vacuum on in the past, the part has likely become faulty.
- Check if your warranty is still active on the vacuum and send it in for repair if it is.
