If your Bissell CleanView Compact Turbo 3437F vacuum is not picking up dirt and debris, or is spreading debris instead of bringing it into the dust container, follow this troubleshooting guide.
Full Dirt Tank
If the dirt tank is full the vacuum will not be able to store anymore material and may send debris across the floor instead.
- To empty the dirt tank, press down on the gray “release” button on the dust container’s handle. Then, tilt the dust container back and lift it up.
- Pull up on the purple “washable filter” tab and gently lift the black separator in the tank up with your hand.
- Empty the dirt tank and separator into an appropriate waste bin by pressing the “push to empty” button on the back of the container.
- Reinsert the dust container.
Follow the step-by-step guide here to replace or empty the dirt tank.
Dirty Filter
- Make sure to check the foam filter by gently pulling up on the “washable filter” tab and removing the foam filter above the black separator piece.
- Wash the filter with warm water and mild detergent and let it air dry for 24 hours.
- Reinstall the filter with the black foam side facing you.
Follow the step-by-step guide here to replace or clean the foam filter.
Clogged Hose
- Twist the upper hose connection counterclockwise to unlock the hose from the vacuum.
- Lift the hose so that it is completely vertical and check the hose for any blockage.
- If there is blockage, disconnect the hose’s bottom connection by gently twisting and lifting.
- Use a long and thin instrument to push any clog out of the hose.
- Reattach the hose after any clog is removed.
Follow the step-by-step guide here to replace the hose.
Clogged Brush Roll
- Lay the vacuum down so that the brush roll underneath the vacuum is visible.
- Remove the 5 screws connecting the brush cover to the brush roll with an appropriate screwdriver.
- Remove the cover and lift the brush roll by gently pulling it from both ends.
- Clean any debris and caught hair in the brush roll
- Reinsert the brush roll and attach the cover.
Follow the step-by-step guide here to replace the brush roll.
Damaged Hose
While the vacuum is turned on, listen to hear if there is any whistling or crunchy sounds coming from the hose. If there is, the hose has been damaged and it is time to order a replacement.
Follow the step-by-step guide here to replace the hose.
Faulty Suction Motor
If none of the previous fixes solved the issue it is likely that the suction motor is failing. Check if your vacuum’s warranty is still active and send the vacuum in for repair if it is. There are currently no replacement motor parts available online for the Bissell Cleanview Compact Turbo 3437F.
