Does your Beats Pill 2024 not turn on when pressing down the power button? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Speaker May be Dead
- The Beats Pill 2024 might be completely dead and needs to be plugged up for a few minutes without attempting to turn it on.
If the LED light on top of the speaker is red. The speaker is on 20-0% battery charge.
Ensure the charging cable is plugged firmly into both the Beats Pill 2024 and power adapter. Charging is indicated by the small LED light on top of the speaker. When the USB Type C charger is connected to an outlet and plugged into the speaker the LED light on top will turn white. Let the speaker charge for 5-10 minutes before trying to repower it.
Dirty Charging Port
- Small debris like lint and dirt are able to get inside the charging port, not allowing the USB Type C charger to deliver power to charge the speaker.
First, check the charging port for debris. Debris will likely look like fuzz stuck on the inside walls of the charging port. Taking a small pair of tweezers, carefully scrape away / pinch the debris to safely remove any particles from the charging port. Another tactic to remove debris is to get a can of compressed air and spray it into the charging port. This will push any particles out of the charging port.
After cleaning, reinsert the charging cable into the port.
Needs a Reset
- If charging the Beats Pill 2024 does not work, hold the system button down for 10 seconds to reset the device.
If none of the previous solutions have worked, try to reset the speaker by holding the middle button (system button) down for 10 seconds. This will reset the speaker while keeping all previously adjusted settings the same.
A larger reset that can also be done is the factory reset. After completing this reset, the speaker will need to be set up like a brand-new speaker connecting for the first time. To complete this reset, hold the power and minus volume buttons together until the LED on top of the speaker starts to flash blue. Put the speaker down as it will now reset and power back on shortly in its “pairing mode.”
Battery Failure
- Try replacing the battery
With the wide range of areas this speaker can be used in, it is possible that some debris reached the battery, or the battery's life cycle has come to an end. This will require the user to open the speaker up and replace the battery.
