Does Not Charge
The tablet will not charge.
Defective Charger
The charger you are using may be defective. It could be a problem with the USB cable or with the adapter. Try plugging the USB cable into a different adapter. If that does not work, then it may be the outlet itself. Try plugging the adapter into a different outlet.
Defective Charging Port
The charging port is the small micro USB port where the charger plugs into the tablet. This may be broken, causing the device not to charge. If the port is visibly loose, then this is likely causing the charging problems. Try wiggling the USB cord to see if it will charge. If this does not work, then you will likely need to replace the micro USB port.
Display Isn't Working
The display screen is not working correctly
Tablet Won't Power On
The device battery could be dead, so try charging it for a few hours. Then try to power the device on by holding the power button located at the top of the device.
Try hitting the reset button which is located on the bottom right side of the tablet, near the USB port. Use a paper clip or another small thin object to press it.
If none of the above suggestions are working, you may have to perform a factory reset (this will delete all personal information and restore factory settings). Here is a link on how to perform a factory reset.
Finally, if the device still will not power on, the battery may need to be replaced.
Screen is Blank
The device may be in sleep mode, so try pressing the power button.
The device may be stuck in sleep mode. Try holding the power button for 30 seconds to shut the device off, then press the power button again to power the device on.

You may need to try a factory reset. The link can be found above. Again, a factory reset will delete all personal information and restore factory settings.

First, try restarting the device by holding the power button.
Try updating the device if an update is available.
Try hitting the reset button, located near the bottom right side of the tablet, near the USB port.

The power/volume buttons won't work.
Buttons won't work
The device might be turned off. Make sure the device is charged and hold the power button down to turn on the device. If the device is turned on, a hard reset of the device might be required (this will delete all personal information and restore the device to factory settings).
Jammed Buttons
This could be a sign of residue buildup underneath the buttons. Try pressing the sticky button repeatedly to see if it loosens up. If the button is still unresponsive, you might need to replace the corresponding button.
Missing Buttons
If a button is obviously missing, you will need to replace the corresponding button.
USB Cable Does Not Work
The device is not communicating with the external device it is connected to via USB.
Device Connected Via USB Is Not Recognized
Your cable might not be working due to a software issue. First, power down your device, unplug the USB cable and wait 10 seconds. Next, plug the USB cable back in and power the device back on. If cable still does not work, ensure you are using the most recent USB driver.
You can check for downloads here. If cable still does not work after the driver is updated; you should test your cable to see if it's bad.
USB Cable Still Isn't Working Despite Software Update
If possible, try testing your USB cable with another device. If you find the cable still does not work, then it needs to be replaced. If the cable works with the test device, you most likely need to replace the USB port on your Acer Iconia Tab 8.
If you do not have another device but have another cable; try the new cable. If it is working with your device unplug it and try the original cable once again. If the original USB cable still does not work, the cable is bad and needs replacing.
USB Cable Works With Test Device But Not Tablet
If you have determined the USB cable is not faulty you may need to replace the USB port on your Acer Iconia Tab 8.
WiFi Connectivity Issues
Wi-Fi is slow or isn't connecting at all
Slow Wi-Fi Connection
Check your wifi signal if the speed is slow.
If there are fewer bars, move your device closer to the router.
No Wi-Fi Connection
Turn your wifi off and restart your device.
Turn the wifi on to check for a successful connection.
If the problem still persists, click on the device manager and go to the wireless settings to uninstall the driver.
Reboot the tablet and allow it to reinstall the driver.
Once the driver is installed, turn on the wifi and check the connectivity. It should work fine.
