Abask A8 Recording Stops Unexpectedly
If the Abask A8 unintentionally stops recording while in use, follow these steps to resolve the issue.
Memory Card is Full
The memory card could become full if the loop recording function is disabled. One possible solution is to replace the memory card. Locate the slot marked "TF" with a small chip icon to the left side of the screen. Remove the existing memory card and slide a new one into the slot. Alternatively, you can free up space on the memory card by deleting older recordings through the mobile app or enable the loop recording function.
Loop Recording Function Is Disabled
The loop recording function will automatically delete the oldest video to make room for new footage. To make sure that the loop recording function is enabled, navigate to the settings menu on the Abask A8 Dash Camera and find the loop recording function. This setting also allows you to set the footage duration to 1 minute, 3 minutes, or 5 minutes, which can further save storage. Finally, confirm the settings to activate the loop recording function.
Insufficient Micro-SD Card Speed
Make sure that the Micro-SD card is a high-speed card above U3 class. The U3 class is an ultra high speed class of cards, which uses a faster bus interface for higher speeds. This class is recommended for 4K and 8K video recording.
Too Many Locked Videos
You can playback the videos on the Abask A8 Dash Cam app or on the camera itself. Navigate to the playback menu on your camera or mobile app to review the recorded videos. Look for any videos that may have a locked icon or are marked as "locked" or "protected". Delete any unnecessary locked videos to free up space on the SD card. You can also manually unlock the videos through the dash cam or the mobile application.
Battery Is Not Charged
The Abask A8 could shut off while recording due to a low battery. To rule out issues with the battery, try charging the device fully and see if it starts recording again. If the problem persists, it may be time to replace the battery.
