If your ASUS ROG Spatha X scroll wheel is experiencing issues, whether that be in registering clicks, randomly inverting itself, input delay, or stuttering, use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Faulty Battery
If using the mouse in wireless mode, make sure the batteries are sufficiently charged.
Failing USB Port
If using in wired mode, try plugging the mouse into a different port. If you're using the wireless mode, try plugging the receiver into a different port.
Dust and Dirt
Dust building up around the scroll wheel can interfere with the sensor, leading to inaccurate or jerky scrolling. Try using compressed air or gently scrubbing it with a brush.
Software Issues
Sometimes the ASUS Armoury software not being up to date can cause issues. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Armoury software.
Resetting the Mouse
In some cases, a firmware reset may be required. To perform this, first plug in the mouse while in wired mode. Next, unplug the mouse, then hold down left click, scroll wheel, and right click buttons. Reseat the cable while holding these buttons down. After about 20-30 seconds, you should see a popup to reset the firmware. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
Hardware Issue
If all else fails, you may need to replace the entire scroll wheel. Consult this guide for a step by step process to replace it.
