Try using myasus for system diagnostics, look for wireless communication problems in the system diagnosis section. If that doesn't work go into the settings find network and internet, status, network reset.
(1) My speculation is something on the board may be broken relating to the fans, the GPU/CPU are being bottlenecked on performance since the fans aren't working (2) If a processor is damaged it can't be fixed, it would have to be replaced. (3) My guess again for the fans is the board is not reading the fans properly through the connector or there is a process that starts up the fans and the process can't complete so it kills the process.
There might be a problem with the internals or software on the vive, I recommend a factory reset of the vive so it can reinstall all necessary drivers from scratch. here's how. If that doesn't work, try checking for any windows updates /driver updates for your graphics card. Make sure to update your headset after the reset.
The battery being swollen means it might explode, take the battery out, don't charge the phone, and either order a replacement battery and slot it in or go to a tech repair shop.
