As you are even considering getting a new model, I would try to fix it first, as it is just a USB female port that would need to be resoldered/replaced. It is called mini USB type B 10-pin female, and it isn't that easy to find anymore, unfortunately. The most common is the 5-pin version, which is not compatible.
