About Cynthia
As in-house General Counsel, Cynthia handles intellectual property and various other legal matters for iFixit, "a small company with a big goal: we want to show the world how to fix everything." She is active in her local community, serving as a Director on the Oceano Community Services District Board and holding a volunteer position as Vice Chair of the Oceano Advisory Council. In her spare time, Cynthia volunteers with the San Luis Obispo chapter of Surfrider, working for the protection and enjoyment of our ocean, waves and beaches. She’s stoked to work for a company that shares her values.
A remodeled bungalow built in 1940 needs a lot of repairs, and Cynthia is constantly fixing things around her house in Oceano. She surfs as often as possible and is learning to sandboard in the Oceano Dunes. Once, she jumped out of a perfectly good airplane operated by a sketchy pilot.

About Selkies
Cynthia is writing a young adult fantasy novel about a teenage surfer girl who’s given ocean-related superpowers by a merman and is friends with a selkie.
Selkies are mythical creatures, seals who take human form on land
Is there any way to do this without ruining an iron?
I also wouldn’t have bought this phone if I’d known how hard it is to do the routine maintenance of replacing the battery. Since this is rated as difficult, I was afraid to attempt it myself. I took a new battery and adhesive strips to a local repair shop, SecurePro in SLO, where someone who’s done this many times turned it around perfectly in under half an hour. No more range anxiety!
