Not so much a problem as a need to update the hardware of my MacBook Pro.

The repair/update went very well. I was surprised to find out that two 8GB RAM modules could go into my machine. The SSD/HD hybrid drive was installed easily and doubled the space of my storage to a 1TB. I've noticed speed improvements due to the 64MB SSD cash on the traditional drive. The shared RAM for the HD 3000 went from 384MB to 500MB after the successful RAM upgrade as well.

I used a command line ASR (Apple Software Restore) to clone the old drive to the new drive with the USB enclosure included in the upgrade kit. It was a block by block copy which created a bootable clone of my previous HD and expanded the size of the partition to meet the increased space as well. Using Terminal and Disk Utility from Recovery Mode (Command + R on startup with newer Macs) was very easy.
