Our IPad 2 had a very broken screen on the upper right side. We did not want to take it back to Apple. The replacement cost to much.

It went pretty well. The start was difficult as the bulk of the break was in the area where the screen removal is to start. I did end up doing minor damage to thin plastic ring that goes around the iPad but it is hardly noticeable after reassembly. I now know how not to do that. Next, will be replacing the screen on an iPad 3, belonging to one of my supervisors. He has one crack across the screen vs the shatter I had. His should be very easy. Also I plan to use a heat gun instead of the bag, as I now familiar with where things are and how not to burn them.

Be very careful of the plastic band that goes between the screen and the glass. Also limit how far you insert the guitar picks as you loosen the glue. After being inside the iPad I can see where it would be easy to damage the WIFI antenna.
