My round iPhone button took multiple hits in order to make it function. It was either buy a new phone or try to fix it myself.

It went pretty well. I got on a table with plenty of space, got all the tools and a magnifying glass and was successful in replacing the button. There is nothing to be soldered so it is pretty much a straight removing screws job which is much easier. I actually think that this was easier than trying to replace an iPod Touch battery which I was NOT successful in doing. Since I replaced the button, my it works just like new.

If I had to do it over again, I would have put on some tight fitting rubber gloves so as to not get any oils from my hands on the internal parts. I did wipe things with alcohol from time to time but I don't think I suffered any from not using gloves, I just wanted to make sure I didn't screw anything up. I took a sheet of paper and marked it Step 1 through Step 28 and placed the screws from each step on the paper so that I would know where each of them goes. Advice - don't mess up the screws!
