find a chunk of fallen dead wood that is a suitable size for handle. (minimum of 1 ft for comfort)
Typical four prong fork that you would find in a kitchen drawer.
1/8" by (height of handle) wood dowel
1.bend the two middle tongs down until it breaks away
2.straighten the bend in a vise and tighten slowly won't snap.
3.cut off the bark from wood with layth or table saw.
4.I shaped the handle to with straight cuts using table saw. shape the handle to be round if you have a layth.
5.slice the handle in half with table saw.
6.trace the shape of fork handle on both of the inside split wood.
7.carve out a groove for a centered flush inserted fork. write a line to indicate the butt of handle location on outside wood.
8.spread line of glue on one-half inside handle.
9.clamp the two parts together until the adhesion settles. wipe away the extra glue.
10.use a 1/16" bit and driver to go through wood and butt of fork handle.
11.coat dowel with glue and pound into the circle cutout.
12.sand down entire surface area with 100 grit. wipe the handle with a clean cloth.
13.brush on two coats of water resistant polyurethane paint 2-in-1.
