The original battery in my Garmin Fenix 6s pro (from 2019) needed to be recharged much more often than previously - limiting my running to less than 9 hours.

I didn't find a repair guide on iFixit. There are some youtube videos.

Overall, the repair is easy (see pictures), unless you start cutting the battery wires (see below).

1) Power watch down. Remove the watch band.

2) Unscrew the six screws that hold the bottom of your watch.

3) Gently pry the bottom lid loose - e.g. using your fingernail (or spudger).

4) Flip the lid on the side with the power connector.. - Don't worry if this go wrong. The lid contains the battery and is connected to the display side with an plug-on connector, which is super easy to reattach by putting a bit of pressure from your finger. If you flip lid to the power connector side, chances are that this connector wouldn't come off.. (else reattach it later).

5) Remove the glued on battery from the lid. (Gently)

6) **If you are smart:**

a) Unsolder the original battery wires from the two solder pads on the blackish plastic connector hanging on the display side. (Might be hidden under some kapton tape).

b) Check wire length of your new battery, adjust as needed. Then, solder the matching wires from the new battery on these two soldering pads. (Nice big soldering pads. --> see picture 3!!)

c) Then glue battery in using double face tape.

d) Reassemble your watch.

If you are **not smart**, then you will NOT cut the wires. This is stupid, as it leads to some tricky soldering job between two tangling wires, having to isolate them, etc..

(Shrinking pipes and Kapton tape were my friends.. but that was soo stupid.. any how, still worked out at the end.)

See comments above on being smart. - Don't cut the battery wires. Just solder the new wires to these beautiful soldering pads hidden on the blackish plastic cable coming from the display side.

Wartch works fine with the new battery, which turned out to have more mAh than the old one. (Unexpected, wasn't quite what I ordered.) - This leaves me with 24 h to use it while running, rather than the 9 h before.
