My dad was doing some work on our beach hut changing old tube lights to new LEDs and he accidentally blew our 12v TV up.

I started taking apart the TV apart to see if it was repairable and found a blown microchip (picture) and realised I was in over my head. I knew I could take it to a micro soldering place, but the TV wasn't expensive so it's probably best to just get a new one.

Don't expect taking it apart to be simple. I had to get someone else to hold part of the TV up while I removed screws and cable organisation tape. It doest help that the connections on the board are either glued together or pretty much impossible to open.
