One of my customers had accidentally crushed the screen of her iPad in her motorized recliner chair mechanism. The screen and digitizer were shattered, and the LCD only displayed half the screen image.

Getting the broken glass from the front panel and digitizer off was a real challenge, and took me a long time using a heat gun and patience. I found the iFixit guides invaluable! The parts I ordered from iFixit were very well packed, and installed without a hitch. The preinstalled adhesive strips and Home button assembly made reassembly simple. The iPad now works great and my customer is delighted!

I used acetone (fingernail polish remover) and cotton swabs to clean up all the residual glue after removing the damaged front panel - it worked a treat!
